Seeding Action and iNaturalist are partnering to support science centers and museums as they contribute to a culture of hope and action for planetary health through the use of iNaturalist, a free app that connects people and nature. This project is funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
Funded Cohorts: Organizations who are ASTC and Seeding Action members are invited to apply for up to $20,000 to undertake new or expanded projects that leverage the app to encourage local action.
The application period for the second cohort has closed. The cohort will meet regularly from March 2026-March 2027, and cohort members will design and implement projects within that timeframe.
We anticipate issuing a Request for Proposals for Cohort 3 near the end of 2026.

iNaturalist signs:
Any organization is welcome to order a free sign that invites visitors to use iNaturalist as a tool for protecting nature. We have several designs and options to customize elements. Options include A-frames, retractable banners, and wall signs. Please see the signage overview document for more information and images of all options. Please use this form to place your free signage order.

Social Media Toolkit
The Seeding Action with iNaturalist social media toolkit is a resource for anyone who would like to encourage their online audiences to use iNaturalist to contribute to biodiversity data collection and help protect nature. The toolkit includes graphics and sample text that can be used or adapted, and guidance for sourcing visuals and measuring success.
For more information about iNaturalist and opportunities to participate in this program, please see the recording of our informational webinar. Please sign up for the interest list to receive a notification when applications open for the next cohort.
